NCH's Council of Trustees
 The NCH Council of Trustees holds the charity in trust for current and future beneficiaries. The Council will:
- ensure that NCH fulfils its purpose and keeps to its values and strategic direction.
- ensure the overall corporate performance of NCH
- ensure that the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and with NCH's equal opportunities policy.
- ensure the security, deployment and proper application of the charity's assets, both tangible and intangible.
- ensure that the governance of NCH is carried out to the highest possible standard.
The Council consists of:- the Chair and Vice-Chair of NCH
- the Treasurer of NCH
- the Co-ordinating Secretary for Public Life and Social Justice of the Methodist Church connectional team
- 14 other members appointed by the Methodist Conference (on the nomination of the Council), at least 50% of persons appointed being members of the Methodist Church
At any one time, at least one of the Chair, the Vice-Chair and the Treasurer shall be a member of the Methodist Church.
